Send Me Lord!

As we look around, it is evident that all that God created is good. Yet in the midst of all this beauty, a battle rages. Many have been taken captive and are being used and abused by their captor. He ignores their cries for freedom, and torments daily their souls. He has stolen their joy and peace of mind, and is planning their total defeat. Unable to loosen the chains, they give in to his instructions. He shuts them up in a dungeon, and has blinded their eyes from the light of the truth. His name, we need not mention, for we know this ancient foe.

I hear the cry of a mother, who doesn't recognize what her son has become. All she has are memories of his once affectionate manner. I hear the cry of a father whose daughter has lost her way.  I hear the little children crying, being robbed of their innocence, and too ashamed to tell. I hear strife and confusion as I walk by the houses, and the sick longing for another day in the sun.

There is a Healer with an outstretched hand. Do you know that He's touched with our infirmities; do you know he wept over Jerusalem, and at Lazarus tomb and is weeping over you? He wants to heal our land, but where are the bowels of mercy and compassion? Everyone takes a look, but walks on the other side. Where is the good Samaritan who will stop and administer a helping hand? The closets of prayer are empty and so are the fields. The laborers are very few, but are fighting the good fight of faith. Like Moses, their hands are needing extra support.

Hear our prayer O Lord, revive us again! Let the heavens drop your rain, a rain of your Holy Ghost, pour out of your Spirit upon all flesh. We know you are willing, but who is ready? We know you are calling, but who has answered your voice? Send me Lord, send me, to gather up your harvest. I give myself to you. Amen.
