Hope & Encouragement for Life's Journey

A Bouquet of Thanks!

It is good to give thanks to the Lord,
and to sing praises to Your name,
O Most High; to declare Your lovingkindness in
the morning and Your faithfulness
every night.
Psalm 92:1,2

When we give thanks to God, it pleases His heart. We must be mindful at all times to offer thanksgiving--there is so much we can give thanks for, if we would take the time and consider all His wonderful benefits. As we say thank you, we acknowledge the receipt from His hand that says our debts are paid in full. Our gratitude is worth more than any bull from the stall or any fatted calf.

It was no light matter when the Lord extended His hand of mercy to the ten lepers and only one returned to give Him thanks. The others couldn’t wait to go do all the things they missed in their unclean state. Sure they were excited, wouldn’t you? Still, in all our excitement over our new found liberties in Christ, let us not forget the One who has done us much good. Above all, let’s thank Him that our names are written in the Lamb’s Book of Life.

:: Scripture Verses
Oh, that men would give thanks to the Lord for his goodness, and for His wonderful works to the children of men! For He satisfies the longing soul, and fills the hungry soul with goodness. Psalm 107:8,9

:: Scripture Verses
Oh come, let us sing to the Lord! Let us shout joyfully to the Rock of our salvation. Let us come before His presence with thanksgiving; let us shout joyfully to Him with psalms. For the Lord is the great God. And the great King above all gods. In His hand are the deep places of the earth; the heights of the hills are His also.

The sea is His, for He made it; and His hands formed the dry land. Oh come, let us worship and bow down; let us kneel before the Lord our Maker. For He is our God, and we are the people of His pasture, and the sheep of His hand.

Today, if you will hear His voice, do not harden your hearts, as in the wilderness, when your fathers tested Me. They tried Me, though they saw My work. For forty years I was grieved with that generation, and said, "It is a people who go astray in their hearts. And they do not know My ways. So I swore in My wrath, they shall not enter My rest." Psalm 95
