Grace and peace to you, in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Thank you for stopping by today!

Glory Rising Devotion

Arise, shine; for your light
has come! And the glory of the Lord
is risen upon you. For behold the
darkness shall cover the earth,
and deep darkness the people;
but the Lord will arise over
you, and His glory will
be seen upon you.
{Isaiah 60:1 & 2}

For there is hope of a tree if it be cut down, that it will sprout again, and that the tender branch thereof will not cease. Though the root thereof wax old in the earth, and the stock thereof die in the ground, yet through the scent of water it will bud, and bring forth boughs like a plant. {Job 14:7-9}

Praise God who gives the former and the latter rain! We are the trees of his righteousness, the planting of the Lord. O Lord, be glorified!

May the glory of the Lord rise upon you who have sown in tears; you whose eyes are fixed on the Lord; you who are steadfast; you who are trusting in his arm of deliverance, (what a mighty arm!) You who are resting beside still waters; you who are enduring trials and tribulations; you who are yielding to his power; you who have endured tempests; you who are passing through the valley, (Stop, listen! there are streams flowing in the valley. It’s here the soil is fertile, and the plants grow!) You who are watchful and prayerful; you who have been through the fire and are dying to self; you who are ever joyful; you who have reckoned the “old man” dead; you who are expectant; you who are rejoicing on the mountain, you who are bearing your cross.

Take courage. Let the pure water of God’s Word sanctify you through and through. Let it quench your thirst and cool your anxious brow. Immerse yourself in its flow. In due time, you will come forth exceedingly glorious, for the glory of the Lord has risen upon you!

The sun shall no longer be your light by day, nor for brightness shall the moon give light to you; but the Lord will be to you an everlasting light, and your God your glory. {Isaiah 60:19}

Your sun shall no longer go down, nor shall your moon withdraw itself; for the Lord will be your everlasting light, and the days of your mourning shall be ended. Also your people shall all be righteous; they shall inherit the land forever, the branch of My planting, the work of My hands, that I may be glorified. A little one shall become a thousand, and a small one a strong nation. I, the Lord, will hasten it in its time. {Isaiah 60:20-22}

The Spirit of the Lord God is upon Me, because the Lord has anointed Me to preach good tidings to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives and the opening of the prison to those who are bound; to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all who mourn, to console those who mourn in Zion, to give them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they may be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that He may be glorified. {Isaiah 61:1-3}
