And now, brethren, I commend you to God and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all them which are sanctified. I have coveted no man’s silver, or gold or apparel. Yea, ye yourselves know that these hands have ministered unto my necessities, and to them that were with me. I have showed you all things, how that so laboring, ye ought to support the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he said, “It is more blessed to give than to receive.”
And when he had thus spoken, he knelt down, and prayed with them all, and they all wept sore and fell on Paul’s neck, and kissed him, sorrowing most of all for the words which he spake, that they should see his face no more and they accompanied him unto the ship. (Acts 20:32-38)
Throughout church history, faithful men and women have plowed, planted and watered in the fields of souls. They have also reaped great harvests for the kingdom of God and for all their labor and afflictions, they have ran the race set before them with great joy!
Their accomplished mission, was to testify the gospel of the grace of God, and that has also become ours, who are living today as followers of Christ. It is a simple message of hope and deliverance but is often rejected in favor of worldly pleasure and self gratification.
Only Christ can draw men unto himself, (John 6:44) and even as you're reading this, great transformations are taking place in the lives of people the world over. Praise God!
Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God. Jesus says: “Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.” (Mark 16:15)
May the church of Christ unite in purpose and complete the ministry entrusted to us by our faithful Savior Jesus Christ.
For God so loved the world, that he gave us his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him shall not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through him might be saved. He that believeth on him is not condemned, but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light because their deeds were evil. For everyone that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God. (John 3:16-21)
