Good Friday Reflections

All thanks and praise be to eternal God, for His love, mercy and grace. For the sacrifice for sins, through the atoning blood of Jesus Christ, Savior and Lord. For the promised Holy Spirit given—our Comforter, Teacher and Guide. Amen.

Do you know Him today? Come as you are; His arms are open wide.
Believe on Him whom God raised from the dead, and be saved.

A Day of Reflection

This Good Friday, Christians the world over will commemorate the crucifixion, death and burial of our Lord Jesus Christ. A day when God's Lamb without blemish was made the sacrifice for sin. A day that by all appearance, seemed to be one of doom and gloom, but it was a day of great deliverance for humanity.

Bible Reading:

"Surely He has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows; yet we esteemed Him stricken, smitten by God, and afflicted. But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed. All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned, every one, to his own way; and the Lord has laid on Him the iniquity of us all." - Isaiah 53:4-6

Good Friday Prayer & Scripture Readings

Thank You Heavenly Father for Your boundless love. Thank You Jesus for carrying the weight of our sins on Your shoulders that day. Thank you for Your forgiveness and hope, even eternal life in Your presence. Thank You Holy Spirit for the work You are doing in the hearts of men, to reconcile us to God. Amen.

John 3:16 & Isaiah 53:4-6

For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Surely He has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows; yet we esteemed Him stricken, smitten by God, and afflicted. But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed. All we like sheep have gone astray: we have turned, every one, to his own way; and the Lord has laid on Him the iniquity of us all.

A Prayer of Thanksgiving on Good Friday and Always

Jesus died for sinners

Lord Jesus, today your followers the world over, pause and reflect on your great sacrifice— Your trial, suffering and death by way of a cross. We acknowledge and appreciate the ultimate demonstration and profession of your love for us. Like a lamb, you were led to the slaughter—you willingly laid down your life to provide atonement for our sins.

We thank you this day and every day, for cleansing us and delivering us from the powers of satan—from a life of darkness and separation from God our Maker to a life of light and love in your Holy presence.

Our souls rejoice in the hope, that some day, you will show Yourself in the clouds to take us where You are and forever we shall be with You.

As we continue on our earthly sojourn, guided and strengthened by Your Holy Spirit, help us to do Your will. Grant us courage as we go into all the world to share Your gospel. We have no other Savior.

Amen.
