A Shepherd's Heart
King David, (a shepherd of sheep before God called him to shepherd His people Israel,) desired greatly to show the kindness of God to the remnant of the house of Saul. Having made an inquiry, he sent for and extended great mercy to Mephibosheth, son of Jonathan, the son of Saul. As Mephibosheth, (who was lame in both his feet,) fell on his face and prostrated himself before David in fear, David assured him with these words: "Do not fear, for I will surely show you kindness for Jonathan your father's sake and will restore to you all the land of Saul your grandfather and you shall eat bread at my table continually." David also instructed Ziba, a servant of the house of Saul to work the land with his (Ziba's) sons and servants and bring in the harvest on behalf of Mephibosheth."
(2 Samuel Chapter 9)
How much more did our gracious and merciful God do for us when He sent His only Begotten Son into the world, not to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. Jesus is the mediator of a new covenant and restores us to right standing before God. "For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him." (2 Corinthians 5:21).
The gospel is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believes. Praise God who has redeemed us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and made us partakers of His divine nature, and all that He has prepared for us now and in the life to come, everlasting. He has given His church the ministry of reconciliation. O, how He loves the world and is willing that none shall perish.
Jesus, upon seeing the multitudes weary and scattered abroad, like sheep without a shepherd, was moved with compassion and said to His disciples, "The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest." (Matthew 9:36-38)
The heart of our Great Shepherd is loving and forgiving, full of mercy and compassion, full of kindness and truth. A heart that judges righteously; a heart that wants His lost sheep to come home; a heart that wants both the young and grown sheep tended to and fed with His teachings. A heart that desires the reaping of His harvest to be done and His house to be filled.

Thanksgiving Greetings
What a blessing! To have sweet fellowship with God, family and friends. Give thanks with a grateful heart; the Lord is good and His mercy endureth forever! Amen.
The Lord is good to all, and His tender mercies are over all His works. (Psalm 145:9)
Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, and into His courts with praise. Be thankful to Him, and bless His name. For the Lord is good; His mercy is everlasting, and His truth endures to all generations. (Psalm 100:4 & 5)
It is good to give thanks to the Lord, and to sing praises to Your name, O Most High; to declare Your lovingkindness in the morning, and Your faithfulness every night. (Psalm 92:1 & 2)
It is of the Lord's mercies that we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not, they are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness. (Lamentations 3:22-23)
In everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. (1 Thessalonians 5:18)
I had fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. (Psalm 27:13)
Sing to the Lord with thanksgiving; sing praises on the harp to our God, who covers the heavens with clouds, who prepares rain for the earth, who makes grass to grow on the mountains. He gives to the beast its food, and to the young ravens that cry. (Psalm 147:7-9)
Now may He who supplies seed to the sower, and bread for food, supply and multiply the seed you have sown and increase the fruits of your righteousness, while you are enriched in everything for all liberality, which causes thanksgiving through us to God. (2 Corinthians 9:10 & 11)
And do not be drunk with wine, in which is dissipation; but be filled with the Spirit, speaking to one another in psalms, hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord, giving thanks always for all things to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. (Ephesians 5:18-20)
And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him. (Colossians 3:17)

True Happiness
Thanks be to God for a Savior! True happiness is to know Him who has saved us and reconciled us to Himself through Christ. To know Him is to love Him and to keep His commandments. We live in troublesome times, but we have an anchor like no other. Take comfort in these words:
"The Lord is exalted, for He dwells on high; He has filled Zion with justice and righteousness, wisdom and knowledge will be the stability of your times, and the strength of salvation; the fear of the Lord is His treasure." (Isaiah 33:5 & 6)
"Happy is the man who is always reverent, but he who hardens his heart will fall into calamity." (Proverbs 28:14)
"May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit." (Romans 15:13)
"Happy are the people whose God is the Lord!" (Psalm 144:15)
To God be the glory forever and ever. Amen.

Blessed be God who puts faith into our hearts, so that we might believe His words and live by them, even as those in ages past, trusted in Him and obtained a good testimony through faith. Today's Devotion: Jesus, Only Savior
Thanks be to God for sending His only begotten Son into the world to save sinners. Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ is He, and He has gone to prepare a place for His children, so that where He is, there we may be also. Thomas said to Jesus, "Lord we do not know where You are going, and how can we know the way?" (John 14:5) Jesus said to him, "I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me." (John 14:6)
When Philip asked to see the Father, Jesus said, "He who has seen Me has seen the Father." (John 14:9) Jesus also declared in John 10:9, "I am the door. If any man enters by Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture."
Praise Jesus, the image of the invisible God, our Great Shepherd of the sheep; full of grace and truth; the Word made flesh.
From a song of Moses:
"Give ear, O heavens, and I will speak; and hear, O earth, the words of my mouth. Let my teaching drop as the rain, my speech distill as the dew, as raindrops on the tender herb, and as showers on the grass. For I proclaim the name of the Lord: Ascribe greatness to our God. He is the Rock, His work is perfect; for all His ways are justice, a God of truth and without injustice; righteous and upright is He." (Deuteronomy 32:1-4)
There is salvation in no other name or means of entering the kingdom of God. "And He saw that there was no man, and wondered that there was no intercessor: therefore His arm brought salvation unto Him, and His righteousness, it sustained Him." (Isaiah 59:16)
Adopted by God, He has sent forth the Spirit of His Son into our hearts, crying "Abba, Father!" (Galatians 4:6) The Holy Spirit of truth teaches us and gives us spiritual understanding—We are the holy temple of God and if we abide in Him and His words abide in us, we grow in grace and are fruitful in the knowledge of Him, having become partakers of the divine nature and recipients of exceeding great and precious promises, in this life and the age to come.
"If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him and We will come to him and make our abode with him." (John 14:23) "God has given us eternal life and this life is in His Son. He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life." (1 John 5:11 & 12)
"And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou has sent." (John 17:3)
When Philip asked to see the Father, Jesus said, "He who has seen Me has seen the Father." (John 14:9) Jesus also declared in John 10:9, "I am the door. If any man enters by Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture."

Seasons of Transformation
To everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under heaven (Ecclesiastes 3:1). Throughout the seasons here on earth, we observe the changing landscapes of nature, and similarly, in the various aspects of our lives, time and purpose unfold according to God's plan, not ours. "I know that whatever God does, it shall be forever. Nothing can be added to it, and nothing taken from it. God does it, that men should fear before Him." (Ecclesiastes 3:14)
It is God who is excellent in counsel and guidance, who instructs and teaches the plowman. (See Isaiah 28:23-29).
When the apostles inquired of Jesus concerning the restoration of the kingdom to Israel, Jesus said to them: "It is not for you to know times and seasons which the Father has put in His own authority. But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth." (Acts 1:7 & 8)
Praise God who equips, empowers and perfects His church in every good work to do His will. In every season, He is transforming our lives as we yield to the Holy Spirit—working in us that which is well-pleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ—conforming us to the image of His dear Son. To Him be glory forevermore. Amen.

God's Manifold Grace Abounds

The apostle Paul considered himself chief of sinners (1 Timothy 1:15), and set himself forth as an example of the grace of God. He stated: "For I am the least of the apostles, who am not worthy to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God. But by the grace of God I am what I am, and His grace toward me was not in vain; but I labored more abundantly than they all, yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me." (1 Corinthians 15:9 & 10)

What a Loving Savior!
Praise the Lord who has redeemed His people and brought us to His banqueting table. When He enters our lives, He restores our broken walls and gates. He fills our hearts with much joy and gladness. Oh, how His heart rejoices... oh, how He loves His own.
Hear the Word of God by the prophet Zephaniah: "The Lord your God in your midst, the Mighty One, will save; He will rejoice over you with gladness, He will quiet you with His love, He will rejoice over you with singing."
