A Prayer of Thanks

A Day of Reflection

This Good Friday, Christians the world over will commemorate the crucifixion, death and burial of our Lord Jesus Christ. A day when God's Lamb without blemish was made the sacrifice for sin. A day that by all appearance, seemed to be one of doom and gloom, but it was a day of great deliverance for humanity.

"Surely He has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows; yet we esteemed Him stricken, smitten by God, and afflicted. But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed. All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned, every one, to his own way; and the Lord has laid on Him the iniquity of us all." - Isaiah 53:4-6

God spoke to His servant, the prophet Jeremiah saying, "Thus says the Lord who made it, the Lord who formed it to establish it (the Lord is His name): Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know."​ (Jeremiah 33:3)

A sinful nation taken exile would again receive forgiveness, cleansing and restoration. This is the heart of our awesome God who has no pleasure in the destruction of His people, but that His people called by His name would walk uprightly before Him. Bless His holy name!
